Winners Announced and the Future of AI in Education
The judges have weighed in, the people have voted, and we're excited to announce our 10 amazing winners of the AI Classroom Challenge! Go to the gallery to see these submissions and learn about how YOU can better use AI to learn smarter, faster, and better.
A final message from the organizers:
As you might know, we, the organizers, are also students and have created this event because we're very excited about the future of AI and learning. This idea to organize such an event first emerged when AI was banished from university campuses earlier this year, and we were motivated to demonstrate that AI has so much potential when harnessed correctly. And who better to demonstrate that than the people who use it the most?
Yet, as we worked more with it ourselves and watched other students do so, we also sympathized with educators. If used carelessly, AI can be really harmful to learning. So these two became our goals for this hackathon. We wanted to showcase AI's potential to empower learning but also to incentivize students to be critical of how they use AI.
Looking at all the submissions we've received -- much more than just the 10 winning use cases -- we know we've done the first. It's clear that AI has such a diverse range of applications both in scale and topic, from personalized topic-specific uses to structuring the learning process itself to making content more memorable and interesting, and we think this is just starting to scratch the surface.
We also hope participating and engaging with this hackathon has given you a chance to reflect on the role AI should play in your own education. This is not an easy question to answer, but one that will likely define the next phase of learning. We’ll be writing up some of our thoughts as well as a more comprehensive summary of this hackathon soon. Fill out this form and we’ll send it your way.
Thank you to everyone for engaging and participating in this hackathon and we hope you continue to use AI to enhance your learning, but ask that you do so with caution and responsible intentions. Learning will never be the same again, and the future looks bright.
Sincerely,
The AI Consensus team
